Our engagement arm builds and executes grassroots social action campaigns in order to increase viewership – whether it be in theaters or non-traditional venues like schools, community organizations or online across new and social media sites – and engagement to enhance the overall impact of the film project.     • >THE LAST SURVIVOR

       

      Produced, Directed and Distributed // TheLastSurvivor.com //

      The Last Survivor is the first feature length documentary produced by Righteous Pictures and was completed in 2010. Starting in April 2011, unofficially known as Genocide Prevention Month, and running through June 20th, World Refugee Day, we kicked off and executed The Last Survivor Grassroots Screening tour. By partnering with leading national and international genocide prevention and refugee assistance nonprofits and NGOs, we have since brought the film to over 100 cities and 10s of thousands of people. In early 2012, the team launched the film’s educational companion, The Last Survivor Classroom Action Project.

      Partner Relations and Digital Strategy // TheBullyProject.com //

      Bully is a feature length documentary released in March 2012, and The Bully Project is it’s accompanying social action campaign to address bullying and create safe schools. Righteous Pictures managed the communications with Bully’s 50+ nonprofit organizations to drive awareness and ticket sales. RP worked with key partners, to execute joint social action campaign initiatives. The RP Social Action team also created and managed the social action campaign’s digital, mobile and social media strategy, working closely with The Weinstein Company and the filmakers.

      Grassroots Education Outreach // TerritheMovie.com//

      RP was hired by ATO Pictures to reach out to leaders in the education community to promote the film Terri, starring John C. Reilly. Working with organizations like Teach for America, 826 and City Year, RP held screenings and secured promotional placement for the opening weekend of Terri in New York and Los Angeles.

      Leading up to their 5 week series of documentaries on PBS, Women War & Peace engaged RP in consulting on their online communications strategy. RP updated their current strategy and laid out an online engagement strategy for the months before their launch.

      Although originally released in 2008, Dhamma Brothers continues to find an audience on and offline. RP is working with the filmmaker to harness this energy online and driving awareness and action in prisoner rehabilitation programs. RP is currently working on growing and engaging the film’s communities on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

      Website Project Management and Online Communication Strategy// DeafJam.org//

      In preparation for its premiere and month long run on PBS’s Independent Lens series, RP worked directly with the film’s director to update the entire website and develop an audience engagement strategy using online tools. RP created, managed and grew the Deaf Jam online community through their website, Facebook page, Twitter feed and email list. RP also consulted on the strategy for their Deaf Jam Poetry contest.

      Righteous Pictures was hired by a DC based foundation to create a series of short films that showcases their international work. Traveling to Uganda and India, RP produced and directed these four short films and will distribute them online. RP will also consult with the organization on how best to distribute them to their own community on and offline.

      WEB is the second feature length documentary by Righteous Pictures. The film is slated for release in 2013. The RP engagement team is current developing the campaign. RP is currently working with nonprofit organizations and corporations to develop an effective campaign to use the film to bring computers and connective technology to developing countries.

      Releasing on VOD and online on February 24th and in select theaters in March 14th, RP will be reaching out to and engaging leaders in the education community in seeing and supporting this narrative, feature film directed by Tony Kaye (American History X) and starring Adrian Brody.

      Righteous Pictures worked with the filmmakers to develop a grassroots marketing strategy for the New York and Los Angeles theatrical openings of To Catch a Dollar. RP managed all partnerships, social media engagement and local press and blogger outreach for the film’s Oscar qualifying run in theaters. RP also created and consulted on the grassroots screening campaign for the film which will launch in 2012.

      Launching in 2012, and in partnership with Toastmasters International, RP will lead the development and execution of the screening series for the new documentary, Speak. Speak follows 5 individuals as they compete to be the world’s best public speaker.

    • >PEACEBOMB PROJECT

       

      Online Strategy and Press Outreach // Peace-Bomb.com//

      The peaceBOMB project is a jewelry line made from melted down exploded bomb materials in Laos, leftover from the Vietnam War. RP consulted with peaceBOMB on their website and online strategy, and secured press placement on social good and pop culture sites such as TakePart, Milkshake and Seventeen. RP also distributed their short documentary on YouTube, garnering over 16,000 views.

      IndieGoGo Campaign // Indiegogo.com/WolfDog//

      Working directly with the filmmaker, RP created the strategy and managed the IndieGoGo fundraising campaign for the independent film project, Wolf Dog. This involved intensive research on niche communities that would be inclined to donate, regular and strategic communication and securing online press. Through on and offline donations, RP assisted the filmmaker in reaching her goal of $20,000.
